- To avoid the lesson leaving students with feelings of hopelessness, distress, and helplessness, after the whole group discussion give student pairs the included list titled Major Sources of NPS Pollution and BMP`s.
- Ask them to analyze their developments and create solutions to problems they can now identify on their properties. Do this before doing the reflective writing assessment.

- Before the activity get the kids talking about what they love about water, where their favourite waterfront spots are, what seasons they enjoy being near the water and how the activities they enjoy there differ.
- Have them brainstorm a list of reasons why water is important to them and life in their community.
