Food Chain Game

Description

A simpler version of an experiential outdoor animal game where younger students play the role of producer, consumer or decomposer to learn about food webs and chains. Instructions to play the game are clear and the game can last 10-20 minutes depending on the age group.                             Included in the resource are:

  • A table describing the goals of each character/organism as they are introduced to the students.
  • Three masters to photocopy.
  • Questions for discussion when the game is completed and then the students are instructed to write about their experience.     

This resource is part of a larger unit called 5 minute fieldtrips also available from the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.
