Description

"Living with Each Other: The Problems of Working Together" is an anthology of stories written or passed down by storytellers. It is one of the chapters within a larger anthology titled Spinning Tales, Weaving Hope: Stories, Storytelling and Activities for Peace, Justice and the Environment. The intent of the stories is to foster empathy, broaden perspectives, and affect positive change relating to issues such as conflict resolution and appreciation of other cultures. All eight stories in this collection are provided with follow up activities relevant to the theme of the stories. The stories deal with the themes of non-violence, conflict resolution, care of our elders, the difference between knowledge and wisdom and many more issues of how we work and live together on this planet. The students will have the opportunity to respond to the stories through examining real-life cases such as apartheid in South Africa, music, poetry, art, cooperative games/scenarios, discussion and creative writing.
